Description
Excerpt 1:
Mia pushed open her office door and her breath caught in her throat. This wasn’t at all what she’d expected for clients. There, sitting feet away from her, were two of the most virile men she’d encountered in a long time. She wasn’t sure which guy was Taylor or which was Bret, but she certainly wanted to know as her interest peaked.
Both men had dark hair, but one of them looked in need of a hair cut. The other’s hair was groomed without a hair out of place. Green and brown eyes met hers and she felt the pull of attraction sweeping through her. Lord, but I could look at these guys all day and never tire of the scenery. Mia swallowed hard. She didn’t miss their muscular shoulders stretching the seams of the casual polo shirts they wore. Boy was I way off base believing they were some stodgy old men I’d have to represent.
As she continued to study them, a strange thought winged its way through her brain. She’d like nothing better than to bed both of her handsome clients at the same time. She didn’t understand where this thought was coming from. It was something popping into her head that kept pushing to the forefront of her thoughts. Soon, though, her sanity returned with the realization hitting her that attorneys don’t date clients.
“Hello,” she moved across the room to where they sat, swallowing hard to keep her emotional response from her tone. “I’m Mia Tognerelli, an associate of John and Andrew.”
“Well, hello, Mia,” one of the men stood putting emphasis on her name, his husky tone vibrating through her senses. “I’m Taylor and this is Bret. John didn’t tell us what a beauty we’d be talking to today.”
She didn’t miss how his eyes took in her soft profile before moving to check out the rest of her shapely figure. When he looked up again, she saw interest shining in his probing glance.
“And John didn’t tell me what hunks I’d be representing,” she admitted in almost a whisper. She wasn’t certain how her new clients would take her boldness, but she was always one to speak her thoughts; good or bad. The words were put out there and she couldn’t pull them back. She stole a glance at them from lowered lashes and discovered their eager smiles. Mia could tell they were as interested in her as she was in them.
“Since we’re all agreeable on how much the attraction between us is heating up by just casual conversation, how about having drinks with us this afternoon after you get off work? I never expected to meet such a ravishing attorney.” This time it was Bret pushing the compliments and making an offer, his eyes warmly caressing her curves.
She took a breath, marshalling her professional aura, “I’d like nothing better, but until we’ve resolved your problem, it isn’t ethical for an attorney to date their clients.”
“It wouldn’t bother us in the least and we sure aren’t going to mention it to anyone,” Taylor reassured her, his tone serious.
“Yes, but I’d know,” her voice trailed off into silence.
“Well, let’s get to it and solve our problem so nothing stands in our way,” Bret removed a portfolio and placed it on her desk.
“I can say one thing for you,” she murmured almost to herself. “You’re nothing but straightforward.” A smile lined her smooth lips as she opened the paperwork and glanced at what was highlighted on each sheet.
“Oh, that we are,” Taylor grinned and Mia had to stop herself from bounding the desk and planting herself in his lap. What in the hell is wrong with me? It seems as if I have no will of my own when it comes to these two. This is definitely a new experience for me, but one I like.
Excerpt 2:
Once inside, Taylor dimmed the lights. The atmosphere reeked with romantic overtones as a fire crackled in the dark brick fireplace across the room. A huge thick rug dominated the wooden flooring and Mia’s eyes were continually drawn to the dark fabric. Thoughts of how it would feel as she stretched out naked on the rug kept running through her head.
“Wake up, Mia,” Bret said in a joking tone, “Let’s have a drink and get to know each other a little better.”
“Sorry, I was thinking about… Something.” she mumbled, trying to keep the blush from covering her cheeks. If he only knew, my thoughts were strictly erotic.
“What will you have to drink?” Taylor stood near the liquor cabinet.
“Whatever you’re having is fine,” she met his gaze and found it hard to break the connection. Soon, he looked away and concentrated in pouring out three glasses of amber liquid splashed with a white soda.
“Thanks.” Mia took the glass.
“Why don’t we sit?” Bret suggested, carrying his glass over to the thick padded beige sofa near the fireplace.
“Great idea,” Taylor waited until Mia sat before joining her. Bret took up the other place on her left. Taylor reached over and tapped Mia’s glass. “To a wonderful attorney.”
“You’re going to make me blush,” Mia said taking a long swallow of the amber liquid and feeling a burning trail coating her throat. It seemed Taylor had made the drink strong, but she tipped it up and finished it off.
Mia silently wondered when they were going to get it on. This was the whole purpose in accepting their invitation for drinks, and it was an added bonus to find they wanted to drink with her alone in Taylor’s apartment. When she glanced up again, she found Taylor watching her expression. He studied her face for several more seconds, and as if he was satisfied about something, placed his drink on the coffee table.
Without saying a word, Taylor removed the glass from Mia’s hand and walked over to the liquor cabinet. “Are you trying to get me drunk?” Her laugh rang out competing with the soft music Bret had playing in the background.
He walked to her and inched alongside, his hip branding a mark on her leg. “How did you know?” His question flustered her and when she turned suddenly her face was within inches of Taylor’s.
He leaned toward her, yet Mia didn’t move; simply waited. His breath felt warm against her face as his head lowered and his mouth captured hers beneath his in a kiss that Mia had only dreamed about. His tongue invaded the interior of her mouth, gently probing and demanding a response from Mia. He didn’t have to wait long for the passion to flow from her as she put her arms around his neck. It seemed like a dream when Taylor put his arm beneath her legs and lifted her off the couch. No protest came from Mia’s lips. This had been what she‘d been waiting for and it looked as if her wish was about to come true.
He gently laid her on the thick rug and she glanced up to see Bret joining them. Taylor and Bret slowly unbuttoned her jacket, removing it and giving them a clear view of her breasts protruding beneath the black silky bra she wore. After unsnapping the bra, her breasts spilled out and she saw that Taylor and Bret couldn’t take their eyes off them.
“I only imagined how beautiful they are,” Taylor confessed in a husky tone, the want for her apparent in his voice.
